I am in India

I am sorry for the lack of update. As some of you may have know, I am currently traveling in India for the first time. It is very hard to get connected in India and blogging is the least of my priorities right now. I came here 2 weeks ago by AirAsia (Again! I hope AirAsia can at least give me a special reward for being their faithful customer). The only flight that AirAsia has to India is from KL to Trichy. So Trichy was my first stop. My first mission was to bring my younger sister back to her campus in Manipal safely and my final mission is to reach Dhaka, Bangladesh before 22nd this month because I am flying back from there. So far, I am already halfway there. I am currently in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Later, I will go to Agra to visit Taj Mahal before I continue my journey up north to escape the heat. I have listed a few places to visit on my way to Dhaka. As I traveled more, I realised I don’t have enough time to visit every places in my list. So, I have reluctantly skipped a few places such as Jodphur and Jaisalmer. A fellow traveler once told it would take 2 lifetimes to visit every places in India. If you are not sure with all the name of places I was talking, you can refer to this map.

I still remember the feeling when I stepped on the soil of this country for the first time. It was like, “Oh boy, what have I put myself into”. Generally, India is a very dirty and noisy country even for Malaysian standard. I was overwhelmed by all kinds of smells and noises. The air is filled with smell of urine, cow dung, curry, body odour and more. Not only that, my ear was constantly abused by car horns, drums, hindi musics and people begging for money. Rubbish is strewn everywhere and most of the locals are not hygienic. They urinate and spit everywhere they like. These kind of behaviors do not reflect positively to the standard of cleanliness in food. However beyond all that, India is an incredible country to travel to. It has the most beautiful views I have ever seen and hold more surprises than any other countries I have ever visited. If my recent trip to Indochina is first level in a computer games, then India is a jump to the final level. Someone said, if you can survive India, you can survive anywhere in the World. I find it holds some truth. I have heard many scary experiences from others who have traveled in India such as food poisoning and cheated by con men. I was scared even before I came here. I am more paranoid than usual in India.

It is very hard for me to summarize India in this blog. To truly experience India, one has to come here with open mind and lots of patient (you will need it!).
