Langkawi Holiday – Island Hopping and Eagle Feeding

On the third day which is our last day holidaying in Langkawi, we decided to go for island hopping and eagle feeding tour.

After having our breakfast at Breakfast Bar, we followed Zac to Awana Porto Malai for the tour. We paid RM40 each.

Actually the place is over crowded and under staffed. Expectantly the food comes late and below standard.

We depart from a marina near Awana Porto Malai.

Pregnant Maiden Island or Pulau Dayang Bunting. Do you see a shape of a pregnant lady lying down on her back? That’s how the island got its name.

On the way back to the jetty, we stop by for a fish spa (it’s free). This is the official look during fish spa session. Instead of using garra ruffa, this fish spa is using cat fish.

No wonder not many fish come to us. One guy with really stinky feet is over there. Just kidding. He has bread to lure the fish.

Next stop is eagle feeding. We don’t have to do anything. The boat man will throw pieces of meat to the sea and swarm of eagles will clear it out in just few minutes. Honestly, I never see so many eagles at one place before.

This is our last stop; Beras Basah Island.

The beach and water is quite nice.

I couldn’t help myself, so I took the plunge into the sea with hot babes around me.

With that, it concludes my 3 days holiday in Langkawi.

What is a holiday if without sun burn and beach? So we decided to take up Pulau Payar snorkeling package on the second day. There are 2 packages. First one is the beach package which cost RM120/person and the other one is the platform package which cost RM200/person. We choose the cheaper one.

We end our second day in Langkawi with a drinking session in a cafe named Little Lylia’s Chillout Cafe. It is located on Pantai Cenang beach.

There are no better ways to end the day by having cold beers with sea breeze blowing on your face, powdery sand between your toes and reggae tunes rocking the night away.

This is what we do on the first day. After checking in at Zackry Guest House, we went up Gunung Mat Cincang via cable car to visit the famous curve hanging bridge.

Ah… the curve hanging bridge. I heard from a friend that the bridge is currently close for maintenance until early November. We are so lucky to have visited it one day before it closed.

Next stop is Telaga Tujuh Waterfall. It is very near the Oriental Village (the place where we took the cable car).

We have to walk up the hill for a short distance before we can reach the waterfall.

That’s me taking a plunge into the cold water. It is so refreshing.

Langkawi Holiday – Zackry Guest House

I always prefer guest houses over hotel when I travel because it is cheaper. For me, I don’t really need room service, TV, mini fridge, fancy painting hanging on the wall, balcony, sea view, bath tub, window or fruit basket. All that matters to me is a comfortable, safe and clean place to sleep. After all, I don’t stay in the room most of the time. Guest houses also offers a kind of warm and friendly atmosphere where you can interact with fellow travelers from all parts of the World. I found all that in Zackry Guest House where I stayed on my recent Langkawi trip.

After going through some reviews on the guest house on few online travel portals, I decided to try my luck and made a booking through Hostelworld.com.

The place is covered with a lot of plants, making it cool even in the afternoon.

It has pantry..

You can make your toast and coffee anytime you wish for free.

It has its own coffee maker.

You can keep your food fresh in the shared fridge.

Cold beers, soft drinks and mineral water are available. Just take it and pay during check out. Totally based on honesty. I like the honesty concept.

Internet access is provided. Wifi is free but if you don’t bring your own laptop, you can use the computers in the common area. It only cost RM3 per hour. After usage, all you need to do is to put the money in the cash box. Like the drinks, it is based on honesty. No one is there to monitor your usage or payment.

I really enjoyed my stay there. I wish I had more time hanging with other travellers and Zac there.
